Are you ready for your summer glow up? Feel healthier than ever this summer by following these 5 simple steps:
1. Move
Move your body! It sounds simple but so many neglect the number one rule of movement. It’s so easy to become sedentary in a city such as Dubai. Commit to at least 15 minutes of exercise a day. Keep it simple and go for a walk, a light jog or a yoga session. If you’re feeling up for it try something like a HIIT class or functional strength training to burn some major calories whilst strengthening and toning your body for longer-lasting results. Consistency is key, include movement or fitness in your daily routine and stick to it for optimum results.
2. Stretch more
Stretching is often neglected, especially if you’re not moving! But injury can derail your journey to a better body so spend 5 minutes at the end of your workout stretching out your body, holding each stretch for at least 30 seconds for best results. You’ll be amazed how great your body feels and may even see better results from your fitness program.
3. Eat healthy
Eat nutritious, fresh, whole foods as much as possible. Lean protein like chicken, fish and eggs, healthy fats like avocado, nuts, seeds and olive oil, dark leafy greens, whole grains and a colourful mix of fruits and vegetables. The easiest way to get in your greens and hit your 5-a-day.
4. Rest
Getting a good night’s sleep is so important whether you’re exercising intensely or had a busy day at the office. If you’re training hard, recovery days are also just as important as training days so make sure you incorporate these into your training schedule. A recovery day can include lighter exercise to give your body some much-needed rest.
5. Start your day right
Take advantage by packing in your healthy nutrients early in the day. Incorporate some fruits and veggies in your breakfast and lunch – giving your body what it needs earlier in the day. An essentially green juice is a great way to kick off your morning, with over 1kg of liquid greens in every bottle it’s the easiest way to pack in your greens first thing.
